Opportunity:

RN - Oncology

Job Details:

• BMT Oncology unit focused on patients with leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and complications from blood cancers including GVHD
• Patient ratio of 4:1 for all shifts
• Average daily census of 30 with 32 beds/rooms
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required throughout the Oncology department as needed based on unit with greatest need per shift
• Perform autologous stem cell transplants and chemotherapy administration
• Minimum 1 year of oncology experience required
• Will accept first-time travelers
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Must pass Relias EKG exam - interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, Chemo certification (ONS/ONCC)
• Required skills include: accessing and managing ports, administration of blood and blood products, administration of chemotherapy, central line blood draw, central line/implanted line care, PICC line care, starting and maintaining IVs, antibiotics, antiemetics, Foley catheter insertion and management, isolation precautions, telemetry interpretation and monitoring
• Additional clinical skills: IV push administration of chemotherapy, continuous infusion of chemotherapy, monitoring chemotherapy, managing and disposing of cytotoxic spills, stem cell therapies, PCA pump management, recognition and management of chemotherapy side effects, Neupogen administration, and management of sepsis and spinal cord compression
