Med-Surg RN Job in Asheville, NC

Join Mission Hospital's 32-bed orthopedic unit as a registered nurse on the night shift. You'll work three 12-hour shifts per week from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, providing direct patient care in individual patient rooms with a 6:1 patient ratio (7:1 stretch).

Your responsibilities will include:

• Performing orthopedic nursing procedures: dressing changes, suture and staple removal, Foley catheter insertion, NG tube placement, and wound vac maintenance and removal
• Operating specialized equipment including CPM machines, sky lifts, Sara Stedy and Sara Lift devices, Maxi Move lifts, bladder scanners, Bair Huggers, hover mats, walkers, bedside commodes, and wheelchairs
• Documenting patient care in the Cerner EMR system
• Collaborating with the night shift team: one charge RN, five RNs, one to two LPNs, two PCTs, and one HUC
• Floating to other Med-Surg units as needed
• Working every other weekend

Requirements:

• Current North Carolina nursing license
• BLS certification
• Hospital experience preferred
• Orthopedic experience preferred

Navy scrubs are required per the facility's dress code. This is a 91-day assignment beginning October 6, 2026, offering a weekly pay rate of $2,102.40.
