Med Surg RN Job in Asheville, NC

You'll work as an RN on the J6 Orthopedics unit at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of September 20, 2026.

Shift & Schedule

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
• Night shift: 6:45 PM–7:15 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Weekly pay: $2,094

The Role

You'll care for patients on a 32-bed orthopedic unit with a standard patient ratio of 6:1 on nights (may stretch to 7:1). You may float to other Med-Surg units as needed. Your responsibilities include dressing changes, suture and staple removal, Foley catheter care, NG tube management, and wound vac maintenance and removal.

What You'll Use

• Electronic medical records system (Cerner)
• Specialized orthopedic equipment: walkers, bedside commodes, bladder scanners, CPM machines, sky lifts, Sara Stedy and Sara Lift, Maxi Move, vital sign machines, hover mats, bair huggers, and wheelchairs

Requirements

• Current NC nursing license
• BLS certification
• Hospital experience preferred
• Orthopedic experience preferred
