Orthopedic Med-Surg RN Job in Asheville, NC

You'll work as an RN on a 32-bed orthopedic unit at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a night shift position: 3x12 hours, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, for 91 days starting September 20, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,094.

Your Role

You'll provide direct patient care on a dedicated orthopedic unit with individual patient rooms. Night shift patient ratios are 6:1 (with occasional 7:1 stretches). Your responsibilities include dressing changes, suture and staple removal, Foley catheter insertion, NG tube placement, and wound vac maintenance and removal. You'll operate a range of equipment:

• Walkers, bedside commodes, wheelchairs
• Bladder scanners, CPM machines
• Sky lifts, Sara Stedy, Sara Lift, Maxi Move
• Vital sign machines, hover mats, Bair Huggers

You'll use the Cerner EMR system and work alongside a night shift team of 1 charge RN, 5 RNs, 1–2 LPNs, 2 PCTs, and 1 HUC.

Requirements & Details

• Current North Carolina RN license
• BLS certification required
• Hospital experience preferred
• Orthopedic experience preferred
• Navy scrubs required

Every other weekend is required. You may float to other Med-Surg units as needed. This is a straightforward night shift opportunity for an experienced RN ready to work in orthopedic care.
