Med-Surg RN Job in Asheville, NC

You'll work as an RN on the J6 Orthopedics unit at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of September 20, 2026.

Shift and Schedule

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
• Night shift: 6:45 PM–7:15 AM
• Every other weekend rotation

Patient Care and Responsibilities

• Work on a 32-bed orthopedics unit with typical night shift ratios of 6:1 (7:1 at stretch capacity)
• Perform dressing changes, suture and staple removal, Foley catheter care, NG tube management, and wound vac maintenance and removal
• Use specialized orthopedic equipment including walkers, bedside commodes, bladder scanners, CPM machines, sky lifts, Sara Stedy, Sara Lift, Maxi Move, vital sign machines, hover mats, bair huggers, and wheelchairs
• Float to other Med-Surg units as needed
• Chart using Cerner electronic medical records system

Requirements

• Current NC nursing license
• BLS certification
• Hospital experience preferred
• Orthopedic experience preferred
• Navy scrubs required per dress code policy

Compensation and Assignment Length

• Weekly pay: $2,094
• 91-day assignment
