Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend requirement within a 4-week schedule
• Holiday requirement includes working 2 days and an eve or 2 eves and a day for Christmas, New Years, and Thanksgiving
• No on-call or standby requirement
• First to float policy applies; may float to East Campus and possibly PCU if qualified
• Patient ratio of 1:5 with nurse aide support at 1:10-15
• 49-bed telemetry unit on the 3rd floor focused on cardiac and medical patients
• Common diagnoses include CHF, respiratory conditions, GI issues, diabetes, post-cath care, and total joint replacement
• Must be able to read and interpret basic telemetry strips and sign off at least once per shift
• Experience with CVA and TIA required
• Total joint replacement experience required
• Cerner charting system experience recommended as only one day of orientation is provided
• Equipment includes BiPap, CPAP, and breathing treatments
• Diltiazem/Cardizem drips administered at a set rate; no drip titration required
• Scrub color requirement: Navy Blue
• Schedules are made 4 weeks in advance using self-scheduling, subject to manager review
• Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per contract or 3 shifts if contract is under 13 weeks
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to signing contract
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
