ICU RN Job in Tomball, TX

Join our 20-bed Intensive Care Unit as a registered nurse on the 2nd floor of the main building at HCA Houston Tomball. This is a 13-week travel assignment with 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM), offering you the opportunity to work in a fast-paced critical care environment with experienced colleagues.

Role Overview

You will provide direct patient care with a 2:1 patient ratio for higher acuity cases and 3:1 for lower acuity patients. Each shift includes 1 charge nurse and 10 RNs dedicated to the unit. You will float to the Progressive Care unit as needed to support hospital operations.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Manage ventilators and titrate critical drips
• Perform or assist with intubation, central line placement, endoscopy, tracheostomy, and chest tube management
• Utilize Baxter Pumps and the Expanse EMR system
• Deliver evidence-based care in a collaborative team environment

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Medical ICU experience required—candidates without this background will not be considered
• ACLS and BLS certification
• Ventilator management and drip titration experience
• Flexibility and strong teamwork skills

Assignment Details

Duration: 91 days (13 weeks) | Start Date: November 2, 2026 | Shift: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, 3 days per week | Weekend shifts: 4 per schedule | Weekly Pay: $1,839.60

Dress code is royal blue scrubs. You will work in a supportive unit with clear staffing ratios and the tools you need to deliver excellent critical care.
