ICU Registered Nurse Job in San Angelo, TX

Shannon Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a 4x12 nights position in the ICU. This role offers $2,431 weekly pay and a 91-day contract starting October 5, 2026.

Position Overview

You will provide direct patient care in the ICU with a 2:1 patient ratio on days, nights, and weekends. The role includes potential floating to Progressive Care and Medical Surgical units. You'll work 48 hours per week preferred, though 36/48 alternating hours will be considered. Weekend coverage is required.

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Travel nursing experience required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• PALS or TNCC certification preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Core Clinical Skills

You must demonstrate proficiency in: arterial line and central line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, CVA/acute stroke management, ICP monitoring, arterial blood gas interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, traumatic brain injury management, and ventilator management.

Additional Competencies

Experience with port access and management, chest tube insertion/removal assistance, chronic/acute renal failure, external ventricular drains (EVD), high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), hypothermia protocol and Arctic Sun equipment, IV insulin protocols, multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, phlebotomy, PICC line management, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, spinal cord injury management, and endotracheal and nasotracheal suctioning is expected.

Patient Population

You will care for adult and geriatric patients in the intensive care setting.
