Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Neuro

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts
• 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• 36-hour unit orientation
• Navy scrubs required
• Travelers are required to work every other weekend
• If RTO includes weekends, time will be added to the end of the contract to make up for those dates
• Floating required to other Med Surg/Tele areas
• If a traveler calls out of a shift, they are expected to make up that day the same week or at the end of their contract
• Preferred scheduling type
• Minimum 2 years of experience required with at least 1 year of direct Med Surg experience
• Must have at least 2 successful travel contracts before applying - first-time travelers will not be accepted
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Required skills: IV start, telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, Med/Surg Neuro experience
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: ACLS
• Charting systems used: PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR
• Primary patient population includes stroke patients, neurosurgery patients, epilepsy, traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas, and other neuro diagnoses
• Unit includes a 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU)
• Patient age groups: Adults and Geriatrics
