ED RN Job in Asheville, NC

Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC is seeking an RN for a 91-day travel assignment in our Emergency Department. You'll work three 12-hour day shifts per week, from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, at a weekly rate of $1,918.44. Your start date is July 27, 2026.

About the Role

You'll provide direct patient care in a high-volume ED with 101 beds. Patient ratios are typically 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds. You will not float outside the ED, but you must be willing to float between all sections within the department. You'll use Baxter pumps, GE monitors, and document in the Cerner electronic health record system. Technicians, cardiac monitoring staff, unit clerks, and internal processing support are available during day and night shifts.

Every other weekend scheduling is required, and you must meet department staffing needs. Block scheduling commitments are not an option. You'll follow AIDET patient experience standards, practice respectful behavior, and maintain updated patient boards throughout each visit.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and CPI certifications before your start date
• Current NIHSS certification before your start date
• ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
• Navy scrubs required as part of dress code

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ annual visits)
• Demonstrated teamwork mentality with ability to coach and give feedback in real time
• Flexibility and willingness to work all areas of the ED
