Job Details:

• Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards in an emergency department setting
• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process
• Assess and prioritize care for patients with complex problems, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required for patient care plans
• Collaborate with patient and family to prepare and update the plan of care
• Consult with appropriate resources regarding patients with complex care issues and those at high risk for discharge planning
• Assess and anticipate discharge needs of individual patients and families
• Participate in discussion with members of the interdisciplinary team in evaluation of patient care
• Communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care
• Identify and address cultural and ethnic issues in planning patient care
• Participate in development and achievement of unit goals and performance improvement activities
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment for all patients and staff
• Utilize nursing standards, policies, and procedures in delivery of care
