Opportunity:

RN - Tele Neuro

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 4 weekend shifts required per 8 weeks
• Holidays worked into permanent holiday rotation based on unit coverage
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Must reside outside of a 50-mile radius - driver's license used as source of truth
• Travel team members must have their own vehicle
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Neuro experience highly preferred
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance - 2 attempts allowed
• Must pass Day 1 SIMs Lab (pass/fail) covering Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Must maintain sterile field competency - nurses have been terminated during SIMs Lab for breaking sterile field
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• BSN not required
• Must be able to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Insulin drips
• Must be able to interpret EKGs; central telemonitoring unit
• Charting system: Cerner with WOWs (Workstations on Wheels)
• Patient ratio of 1:4 on a 32-bed Neuro Tele unit
• Float to tele units and tele overflow in ICU as needed
• Common diagnoses include CVA, TBI, spinal surgery, encephalopathy, ESRD, trached patients, psych issues, and brain tumors
• Fast-paced, high-turnaround unit with an average length of stay of 4-5 days
• Bedside reporting required
• Scrub color: Steel gray
• Natural hair color required and no facial piercings permitted
• Men must be clean shaven for fit test
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
