PCU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You will work as an RN on a 40-bed Progressive Care Unit located on the 5th floor of the Owen Heart Center at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of October 4, 2026.

Shift and Pay

• 3x12 hour night shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Weekly pay: $2,094
• Work every other weekend

Your Role

You will care for patients with cardiac and pulmonary conditions including CHF, MI, chest pain, arrhythmia, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, DKA, and post-intervention patients (cardiac cath/stent, pacer/ICD/ablation). You will manage a patient ratio of 1:4, with possible stretches to 1:5. Responsibilities include bedside cardioversion procedures and documentation in the Cerner EMR system.

Equipment and Medications

You will work with equipment including Zoll monitors, Baxter infusion pumps, lift equipment, and bladder scanners. You must have experience with titratable and cardiac IV medications such as nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutrex, insulin drips, heparin, and bumex/Lasix. Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin) is preferred.

Required Experience and Certifications

• Stepdown or progressive care experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Relief charge experience preferred

Flexibility

You may float to all Med-Surg units, stepdown units, and ER holding as needed. Dress code is all white, all navy blue, or white top with navy blue pants.
