Med Surg RN Job in St Johnsbury, VT

Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital is seeking an RN for its Med Surg unit in St Johnsbury, VT. This is a flex shift position with 12-hour rotations (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM). The assignment is 91 days, starting October 28, 2026. You will earn $2,215 per week.

Unit Overview

You will primarily care for adult medical and surgical patients. The unit occasionally admits pediatric patients, but this is not a dedicated pediatric unit. You will work across a broad scope of practice including medical, surgical, observation, swing bed, outpatient, and occasional pediatric care. You may serve as Charge RN when needed and may be asked to preceptor other staff members. This Critical Access Hospital offers valuable experience in a smaller, community-focused setting.

Requirements

• Current RN license (Vermont or Compact Multi-State)
• Minimum 3 years of recent acute care RN experience
• BLS (American Heart Association) certification
• ACLS (American Heart Association) certification
• Charge RN experience preferred
• Meditech experience preferred

Important Details

Travelers start on Wednesdays. If you are on a 48-hour contract, you will be guaranteed 36 hours during orientation week due to the midweek start. Pediatric-only RNs will not be considered for this role.

You must have a personal vehicle for the duration of the assignment. Public transportation, taxi services, and ride-share options are not available in the area. You are responsible for securing and paying for your own housing accommodations.
