About this role

Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Progressive Care Unit in Louisville, Kentucky. This is an 8-hour shift position with a duration of 89 days, starting October 5, 2026. You will earn $1,430 per week.

In this role, you will deliver professional nursing care centered on the patient as a whole person within a caring environment focused on healing and wellness. Your practice will be grounded in evidence, current research, hospital and department policies, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Apply all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and creativity in clinical decision-making
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice, considering patient culture, age, and developmental level
  • Identify patient risk factors, presenting complaints, and collect objective and subjective data
  • Develop and prioritize patient problem lists based on input from the inter-professional team
  • Coordinate and provide direct patient care activities including nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments
  • Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities in a timely manner
  • Provide patient and family-centered education and individualized treatment planning
  • Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition appropriately
  • Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members in the performance of patient care activities
  • Monitor accuracy and completeness of delegated patient care provided by other team members
  • Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI monitoring
  • Promote a positive group dynamic and healing environment through words and actions
