PACU Registered Nurse Job in Saint Louis, MO

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Barnes-Jewish Hospital Nursing in Saint Louis, Missouri. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of September 28, 2026.

Schedule and Compensation

• 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week
• Shift times rotate between 7:00 PM–7:30 AM and 5:00 PM–5:30 AM as needed
• Monday through Friday schedule with no weekend requirements
• 40 guaranteed hours per week; cancelled shifts equal your regular assigned shift length
• 24 hours of on-call required per 6-week schedule period
• Weekly pay: $2,116
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract period

Clinical Responsibilities

• Care for surgical patients across GU, GYN, colorectal, minimally invasive, bariatric, and some ENT procedures
• Manage complicated postoperative patients with multiple drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and general anesthesia recovery
• Conduct pre-op assessments, pre-op education, administer pre-op medications, and manage pre- and post-IR procedures
• Patient ratio: 1:2
• Float within service line as required
• Pre-op patients for first cases from 5:30 AM–7:30 AM when no PACU patients are present
• Serve adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• Minimum 1 year critical care experience or Level I Trauma Center experience
• PACU and critical care experience required
• Epic charting system experience
• Pass Relias EKG exam with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, Vents, IV start, Telemetry, Critical Care
• Proficiency with IV vasopressors and IV insertion and maintenance
• Navy scrubs required
