PCU RN Job in Nashville, TN

You will work as an RN on a 30-bed progressive care unit at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning August 17, 2026, with a schedule of three 12-hour day shifts per week (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM), and you will earn $1,813.32 weekly.

The unit consists of 22 acute care beds and 8 neuro stepdown beds, giving you exposure to both care levels. Patient ratios are 6:1 on the acute care side and 4:1 on neuro stepdown. You will work alongside one RN charge nurse overseeing the entire tower, one to two techs, and a unit secretary.

Clinical Focus

• Acute care beds feature vital sign machines, high-flow oxygen, chest tubes, suction, and various drips with an emphasis on stroke care
• Neuro stepdown beds are equipped with Vapotherm, BiPAP, trachs, and titrating cardiac drips
• Common procedures include lumbar puncture and chest tube placement

Requirements and Expectations

• BLS certification required for acute care; BLS and ACLS required for neuro stepdown
• Strong acute care nursing skills and time management
• Neuro stepdown experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Weekend shifts required
• You will complete an orientation period; experienced nurses may float after orientation concludes

• Documentation uses Meditech
• Patient experience priorities include bedside shift reports, personal connection, and daily huddles
• Dress code: black scrubs, any shade of blue or grey scrubs. Any color scrubs are permitted on Fridays
