Opportunity:
RN - ICU Float Pool
Job Details:
• Day shift position in a High Acuity Float Pool setting
• Float pool includes Critical Care Unit, Observation, Med Surg, General Surgery, Ortho Surgery, Short Stay Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Telemetry, and Progressive Care
• Must have prior floating experience (float pool shifts, other facilities, and/or floating to other floors/units)
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 depending on acuity; may be 1:3 if acuity is lower or patient has transfer orders
• RNs are required to titrate drips including Epi, Norepi, Dobutamine, Propofol, Esmolol, Hydromorphone, Midazolam, and CIS
• Common patient diagnoses include medical, surgical, neuro, and cardiac cases
• RT equipment includes ventilators, high flow, BiPAP, and CPAP
• Phillips monitors in use; at least 1 monitor tech on unit; RNs are required to read strips
• Nurse aides available on unit, typically 1-2 depending on daily census
• Self-scheduling available; charge RN creates assignments at 0645 for day shift and 1845 for night shift
• 3 weekend shifts required per schedule
• Holiday requirements apply
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
• Scrub color required: Royal Blue
• Orientation includes General Hospital Orientation (held on Mondays weekly), Myles Modules, Cerner Validation class, and 2 on-unit orientation shifts in the ICU
• Charting system: EPIC - must have prior EPIC experience
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required; high acuity experience preferred
• Washington state or Compact nursing license required
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• BSN not required
• Acute care setting
