Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 4 total weekend shifts required per 4 weeks with a minimum of 1 weekend per month
• Holidays worked based on unit rotation and coverage needs
• 32-bed Oncology Acute Telemetry unit (T6) with 85% oncology patients and 15% telemetry/med-surg patients
• Patient population includes surgical, medical, and oncology patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
• Float to other Med-Surg/Telemetry units as needed
• 2-day floor-specific orientation provided
• Charting system: Cerner EMR
• Telemetry system: Philips - RN responsible for interpreting EKGs
• Experience with Bipap and CPAP ventilators required
• Must be proficient in Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes - SIMs Lab is pass/fail
• Must maintain sterile field competency as these skills are performed frequently
• Scrub color: Navy
• Must have natural hair color and no facial piercings
• Men must be clean shaven for fit test
• Must pass a Day 1 orientation exam (study guide provided)
• Must pass DYS exam prior to accepting position (2 attempts allowed)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Chemotherapy certification is a plus
• Must have own vehicle
• BSN not required
