RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with days running 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and nights running 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with shift start at 6:45 PM
• Expected to work 4 shifts per week
• Every other weekend requirement depending on coverage
• Holiday requirement depends on coverage
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Float between two critical care and stepdown units (ICU and PCU) with occasional floating to other departments as necessary
• ICU has 24 beds with a 2:1 patient ratio (at times 3:1 depending on acuity); PCU has 26 beds with a 4:1 ratio
• Care for cardiac patients post CABG or PCI, sepsis, DKA, and respiratory failure patients
• Required to titrate drips including Levophed, amiodarone, heparin, Precedex, propofol, Cardene, nitro, Neo-Synephrine, dopamine, and others
• Work with respiratory therapy equipment including ventilators, BiPAP, and Airvo
• Utilize bedside monitors and monitor bank at charge desk with Monitor Tech on site
• Intensivist in house during day shift; hospitalists available all hours
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7 in ICU
• Charge nurse on floor and house supervisor on each shift
• Document using Paragon charting system
• Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per 13-week assignment; 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
• New Employee Orientation during first week with orientation shifts on both ICU and PCU units
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
• Acute care setting
