Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Full-time position
• Must have several years of ICU experience with strong clinical judgment
• Care for complex patient populations including DKA, s/p STEMIs, Stroke (s/p TNK), intubated/vented patients, ARDS, MODS, CHF exacerbation, COPD exacerbation, GI bleeds, renal failure (CRRT/SLED), liver failure, IABP, and Impellas
• Practice independently and provide routine and complex nursing care
• Utilize the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
• Administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols while monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Provide patient and family education, identifying issues and appropriate resources
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed
• Must be well versed in clinical judgment, caring practices, collaboration, diversity responsiveness, systems thinking, clinical inquiry, and advocacy
• Proficiency with EPIC, Pyxis, and Excel for scheduling required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA only), ACLS (AHA only)
• Active RN license in Texas or compact license required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
