Opportunity:

RN - OR ICU/SICU

Job Details:

• 13-week assignment in the Surgical ICU (SICU)
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Shift workdays and weekend requirements to be discussed during the interview
• Call requirements to be discussed during the interview
• Scheduling is flexible with schedule posted one month in advance
• Floating to other units as needed
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Active Texas RN license required (temporary license will not be accepted)
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• CCRN certification preferred
• Experience with CRRT and hypothermia protocol preferred
• Meditech documentation system experience preferred
• Patient ratio is estimated at 1:2 with assignments based on acuity and skills
• Work with ICU equipment including ventilators, NXStage, Arctic Sun, and GE Cardiac Output monitor
• Perform and assist with central line placements, thoracentesis, dialysis catheter placements, cardioversions, intubations, and other ICU procedures
• Surgical patient population experience required, especially oncology
• Scrub color: Royal Blue for RN
• No artificial nails, gel, or next gen nails permitted; clean and healthy nails required
• Hair must be neat and clean with no extreme styles or colors; must be pulled back if shoulder length or longer
• Body art should be covered whenever possible
• Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited, including nose rings and tongue rings
