ICU Registered Nurse Job in San Angelo, TX

Shannon Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a full-time ICU position in San Angelo, Texas. You will work a 4x12 day shift schedule with a weekly pay of $2,799.36 for a 91-day travel assignment beginning October 5, 2026.

Role Overview

You will provide direct patient care in the Intensive Care Unit with a 2:1 patient ratio on days, nights, and weekends. This role includes potential to float to Progressive Care and Medical Surgical units. Weekend coverage is required. You will manage a diverse adult and geriatric patient population with varying acuity levels.

Required Experience and Credentials

• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience
• Travel nursing experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• NIHSS, PALS, or ENPC certification required within 1 year of start date
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Clinical Competencies

You must be proficient in a wide range of ICU skills, including arterial line management, ventilator management, central line care, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips. Additional required competencies include BiPAP/CPAP management, ICP monitoring, management of multisystem organ dysfunction and failure, blood product administration, IV insulin protocols, CVA and acute stroke management, traumatic brain injury care, external ventricular drain (EVD) management, continuous IV sedation and paralytic management, and interpretation of arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias.

Schedule

A 48-hour per week schedule is preferred; a 36/48 alternating schedule will also be considered. You will work four 12-hour day shifts per week.
