About this role

Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Cardiac Catheterization Lab in Winston Salem, NC. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning August 3, 2026.

Schedule and Compensation

  • 5x8 day shifts: Monday through Friday, 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM
  • Occasional late days approximately 4–5 days per month, rarely extending past 5:00 PM
  • No weekend requirement; call responsibility includes one day per week and every fifth weekend
  • Weekly pay: $2,891

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization settings
  • Manage 1:1 patient ratios in adult and geriatric populations
  • Float as needed within or near the facility
  • Support procedures including cardiac stent placement, percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), left and right heart catheterization, IABP placement and removal, and sheath removal with monitoring
  • Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias, manage procedural sedation, and administer cardioversion as needed
  • Perform 12-lead EKG interpretation and activated clotting time (ACT) monitoring
  • Maintain infection prevention standards and radiation/laser safety protocols

Required Qualifications

  • Current RN license
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience
  • ACLS and BLS certifications
  • Proficiency with antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, reversal agents, and thrombolytics
  • Competency in blood product administration, IV infusion pumps, and IV line initiation
  • Experience with Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR documentation systems

Preferred Skills

Experience with ASD and PFO closures, cardiac implant closure devices, Impella insertion, rotablator atherectomy, TAVI/TAVR, vascular studies and procedures, PICC line and implanted port care, end-tidal CO2 monitoring, and ventilator monitoring.
