RN - Cath Lab

Job Details:

• 5x8 day shifts from 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday through Friday
• Occasional late days approximately 4-5 days per month, rarely working past 5:00 PM on those days
• No weekend requirement
• Call requirement: one day per week and every fifth weekend
• Float as needed within or near facility
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Patients served include adults and geriatrics
• 16 hours of unit orientation
• Scrubs provided
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Travel experience not required; local candidates accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Required skills include: diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab settings, cardiac stent placement, diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, IABP placement/removal, left and right heart catheterization, percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, sheath removal and monitoring, activated clotting time (ACT), cardioversion, 12-lead EKG, and infection prevention
• Required medications experience: antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, reversal agents, and thrombolytics
• Required IV therapy skills: blood product administration, IV infusion pumps, and starting IVs
• Preferred skills include: ASD and PFO closures, cardiac implant closure devices, Impella insertion, rotablator atherectomy, TAVI/TAVR, vascular studies and procedures, PICC line and implanted port care, end-tidal CO2 monitoring, ventilator monitoring, and radiation and laser safety
• Special equipment used includes: Impella, Penumbra, EKOS, Roto, Ultrasound, Shockwave, ACIST, and GE Mac Lab system
• Documentation and medication systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
