PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• 48 hours per week with an 86-hour guarantee
• Must be agreeable to floating, as the position will primarily support Med Surg and PCU
• Weekend coverage required as needed, which may include most weekends during the contract
• Block scheduling may be accommodated, but set schedules cannot be approved
• Patient ratios: 5 patients during days, 6 patients during nights
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; travel experience required
• Epic charting system experience strongly preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• Primary patient diagnoses include MS/PCU overflow
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills include but are not limited to: cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, blood product administration, BiPAP/CPAP management, interpretation of dysrhythmias, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, titration of insulin drips, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, tracheostomy care/management, chest tube management, PICC line management, wound care/wound vac, thrombolytic agents, pacemaker management, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
