Med Surg RN Job in Petoskey, MI

You'll work as a Registered Nurse on a 28-bed Medical Surgical Unit at McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 27, 2026, with a 3x12 night shift schedule and every-other-weekend rotation. Weekly pay is $2,436.48.

Your patient population will be diverse, including general and vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, plastic surgery, trauma, and stroke cases. You'll collaborate with the healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans. You'll demonstrate effective communication through collegial relationships, SBAR, and interdisciplinary team involvement.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of straight medical surgical nursing experience (not float, not SDU/TELE)
• Level I or Level II trauma experience required
• Current Michigan nursing license with LARA and Nursys verification
• BLS (AHA) certification
• Skills checklist completed within one year of application
• Travel experience preferred

The role includes participation in an active Unit Based Council (Shared Governance) that promotes teamwork and a healthy work environment. There are no on-call responsibilities. You must maintain a strict attendance policy—three strikes for absences or being more than 20 minutes late results in immediate termination.
