Med Surg RN Job in Petoskey, MI

You will work as a Registered Nurse on a 28-bed Medical Surgical Unit at McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey, MI. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of July 27, 2026.

Schedule and Compensation

• 3x12 day shifts
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Weekly pay: $2,436.48

Patient Population and Experience Requirements

You will care for a diverse patient population including general and vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, plastic surgery, trauma, and stroke patients. You must have 2+ years of straight medical surgical experience (not float, not SDU/Telemetry) and Level I or Level II trauma experience. Travel experience is preferred.

Credentials and Licensing

• Current Michigan nursing license with LARA and Nursys verification
• BLS certification (AHA)
• Skills checklist completed within one year of application

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Demonstrate effective communication through collegial relationships, SBAR, and interdisciplinary communication
• Participate in an active Unit Based Council (Shared Governance) that promotes teamwork and a healthy work environment

Attendance Policy

You must maintain strict attendance standards. Three strikes for absences or being more than 20 minutes late will result in immediate termination.
