PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• 3x12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Weekend rotation and holidays as needed
• Self-assisted scheduling through Optilink scheduled in 6-week periods
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 with drips/BiPAP, otherwise 1:5
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers welcome
• Previous Charge RN experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS; NIHSS preferred
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)
• Must have Cardiac PCU experience and be comfortable with 1:5 ratios
• Primary focus on cardiac patients including Congestive Heart Failure, Acute Coronary Syndrome, arrhythmias, pre and post cardiac catheterization with and without intervention, rule out myocardial infarction, syncope, and pacemaker placement
• Secondary focus on respiratory conditions including COPD, pneumonia, and BiPAP management
• Required skills include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry on-unit monitoring, peripheral line care and management, PICC line management, managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration), titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, procedural sedation administration, chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac), external CPAP/BiPAP, and tracheostomy management
• Use of Rapid Response Teams preferred
• Nurse assistants available 24/7 and RN secretary available 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM
• Travelers may be floated to any campus as needed
• No local candidates within a 50-mile radius
