Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Orthopedic

Job Details:

• 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays required
• No on-call or standby requirements
• Unit consists of 12 beds with a patient ratio of 5-6 patients per nurse
• Primary patient population includes orthopedic diagnoses
• RNs are not required to titrate drips
• Telemonitor techs monitor patients, but RNs must be able to read strips
• PCTs present on the unit at a 12:1 ratio
• Charge nurses, house supervisors, and nurse educators available on unit
• Must be willing and able to float to all med/tele units
• Experience with CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow patients required
• Strong communication and time management skills required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Navy blue
• 2 shadow/orientation shifts prior to working independently
• Scheduling is managed by unit manager and block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
• Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
