Med Surg RN Job in Utica, NY

You'll work as a Registered Nurse on a 64-bed Medical Surgical Stroke Stepdown unit at MVHS Inc. in Utica, New York. This is a 12-hour night shift position from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, scheduled 3 days per week at $2,466 weekly pay. The assignment runs for 89 days, starting August 24, 2026.

Your Role

You will care for adult patients with a range of common diagnoses including stroke, altered mental status, renal conditions, dialysis, COPD, CHF, isolation cases, general medical-surgical conditions, pneumonia, and pulmonary issues. You'll operate specialty equipment including IV pumps, NG tubes, and feeding tubes. Floating to other units is required as part of this position.

Requirements

• Current New York RN license with NURSYS verification
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in Medical Surgical with stroke stepdown experience
• Travel healthcare experience required
• AHA BLS certification
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale certification) — can be obtained prior to your start date
• Skills checklist matching the Med Surg specialty
• EMR experience with EPIC
• Navy Blue scrubs required
