PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Patient ratio of 1:3 on all shifts
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Float required to Medical-Surgical unit
• Must reside more than 75 miles from facility
• 1 year of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Epic charting experience is a hard requirement
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV placement required for all RNs
• Scrub color: Navy Blue and White
• Special equipment includes CADDS and PCA Pumps
• Patient diagnoses include DKA, acute respiratory needs (BiPap, High Flow, Vent/Trachs), ETOH withdrawal, Sepsis, CPORTS, and nursing intensive/heavy cases
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• Required skills include blood product administration, central line care and management, feeding tube care and management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, PCA, phlebotomy, PICC line management, telemetry, titration of insulin drips, tracheostomy care and management, and wound care/wound vac
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
