ED RN Job in Asheville, NC

Join Mission Hospital's Emergency Department as a travel RN. This 91-day assignment runs nights (6:45 PM–7:15 AM, 3x12 schedule) and pays $2,224 weekly. Start date is September 28, 2026.

The Role

You'll work in a 101-bed, high-volume Emergency Department. Patient ratios are typically 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds. You must be flexible to float across all ED sections, though you will not float outside the department. Every other weekend scheduling is required; block scheduling is not available.

Daily Responsibilities

• Use Baxter pumps, GE monitors, and Cerner documentation system
• Work alongside techs in cardiac monitoring, internal processing, triage, and unit clerk support (available on days and nights)
• Follow AIDET patient experience standards and respectful behavior protocols
• Maintain and update patient boards throughout visits
• Wear navy scrubs as required uniform

Qualifications

You need a minimum of 2 years nursing experience with at least 1 year in the ER. Previous experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (over 100,000 visits annually) is preferred.

Required Certifications

• ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS prior to your start date
• ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire

You'll need strong teamwork mentality with the ability to coach colleagues and provide real-time feedback. This role demands flexibility and a commitment to working across all areas of the ED in a fast-paced environment.
