PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• PM shift schedule
• Float between IMC and medical units, and occasionally take medicine/IMC level boarders in the ED and ICU as needed
• Clinician reports to staffing office for float assignment
• Weekend and holiday coverage per hospital needs
• Patient ratios: IMC 1:4 / MS/Tele 1:5-6
• Unit sizes: IMC 15 beds, MedSurg 44 beds, Telemetry 34 beds
• Treat adult patient population
• Minimum 2 years of experience in IMC/PCU/MS Float Pool required
• Must have completed at least 1 travel assignment
• Must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Required skills: PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, Telemetry, ER Holding, Cardiac Telemetry, MS/Tele
• Additional skills include: accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, chest tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, CVA management, feeding tube care, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, isolation precautions/PPE, cardiac and vasoactive drip management, pacemaker management, PCA, phlebotomy, PICC line management, post MI care, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure, seizure disorders, IV management, substance withdrawal, surgical drains, tracheostomy care, use of rapid response/code teams, and wound care/wound vac
