PCU Registered Nurse Job in Leonardtown, MD

MedStar Saint Marys Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 91-day travel assignment in their Progressive Care Unit (PCU). You will work 3x12 night shifts and earn $1,979 weekly.

Role Overview

You will float between the Intermediate Care (IMC) unit and medical/surgical units, with occasional coverage for medicine/IMC level boarders in the ED and ICU as needed. The IMC unit has 15 beds, Medical-Surgical has 44 beds, and Telemetry has 34 beds. Patient ratios are 1:4 in IMC and 1:5–6 in Med-Surg/Telemetry. You will report to the staffing office for daily float assignments and are expected to work weekends and holidays per hospital needs.

Required Qualifications

• Current Maryland compact or MD nursing license
• Minimum 2 years experience in IMC, PCU, or Med-Surg float pool
• Completion of at least 1 prior travel assignment
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Successful completion of Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms

Required Skills

You must demonstrate competency in PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown care, telemetry monitoring, ER holding, cardiac telemetry, Med-Surg/Telemetry nursing, central line care and management, blood product administration, heparin protocols, pacemaker care, tracheostomy care and management, wound care and wound vac management, and additional cardiac and critical care skills.

Start date is November 30, 2026. Please note that scrubs are not provided by the facility; Caribbean Blue is the required color.
