ED Registered Nurse Job in Rochester, NY

Rochester General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This is a 13-week contract position working 4x12 rotating shifts on either day (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) or night (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) schedules with every other weekend requirement.

Position Details

• Weekly pay: $2,787
• Patient ratio: 1:5 serving adult and geriatric populations with all emergency diagnoses
• Floating within skillset required
• Every other holiday availability may be needed
• Scrub requirement: any combination of navy blue and white

Requirements

• Active New York single state RN license in hand at time of submittal
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• EPIC charting experience (hard requirement)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
• Candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted

Clinical Skills

• IV therapy including blood product administration and central line care
• Phlebotomy and IV initiation/maintenance
• IV vasopressors and ventilator management
• CPAP/BiPAP operation
• CVA/stroke and neuro-trauma care; spinal cord injury and TBI management
• Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Emergency care for adult and pediatric patients including gunshot wounds and ortho trauma
• Triage and isolation precautions

Equipment and Support

You will work with Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment. Interdisciplinary support is available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.

Requests for time off must be submitted upon submission and cannot exceed 10 days.
