ICU RN Job in Sugar Land, TX

CHI St Lukes Health - Sugar Land Hospital is seeking an RN (Registered Nurse) for a 91-day travel assignment in their 16-bed Intensive Care Unit. You will work the night shift, 12 hours per shift, from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on a 3x12 schedule with an every-other-weekend rotation.

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care with a 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Manage ventilators, BiPAP, Airvo, and other respiratory equipment with 24-hour respiratory therapy support available
• Titrate cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation medications
• Monitor patients via central station monitoring
• Manage common diagnoses including CHF, DKA, respiratory failure, metabolic acidosis, renal failure, and encephalopathy
• Troubleshoot respiratory equipment as needed

Requirements:

• Active Texas RN license
• Minimum 2+ years of ICU experience with ventilator management, drip management, and DKA management
• Current ACLS and BLS (AHA) certification
• BSN not required
• CRRT and IABP training preferred but not required

Schedule & Support:

• 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week period
• 1 major and 1 minor holiday required for spring and fall
• No on-call or standby requirements
• Self-scheduling available
• Free charge nurse on each shift with no patient assignment
• Intensivist/NP support 24 hours; MD on day shift and on call
• 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided

• Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per 13-week assignment; 3 shifts for assignments under 13 weeks
