PCU Registered Nurse Job in Roanoke, VA

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Schedule options: 3x12s standard or 4x12s available upon request
• Weekend requirement: Either every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
• Patient ratio typically 1:5 with staffing goal of 1:4
• EPIC charting experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Active Virginia State or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Neuro PCU experience preferred
• Floating required within skillset to other PCU or medical-surgical level units
• 32 hours of orientation required
• Clinical skills include cardiac monitoring, emergency response, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
• Medication administration including cardiac drips (no titration)
• Respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Care for adult and geriatric stroke and neurology patients
• Manage IV drips: Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, low-dose dopamine/dobutamine, Amiodarone, Nitro, Bumex, Lasix, Lidocaine, Ketamine
• Work with specialized equipment including remote telemetry and tele sitting systems
