PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• 3x12 shifts, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Blocked scheduling available upon request; all RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted with presentation
• Patient ratio: 1:4 to 1:5 (must be comfortable with 1:5 ratio)
• 20-bed unit serving adult patients with neurological conditions
• Unit includes 5 dedicated beds for continuous 24-hour epilepsy monitoring
• Care includes neurosurgical recovery, stroke management, neuro-specific diagnoses, and medical overflow
• Floating required to units within clinical skillset
• EPIC charting experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required clinical skills include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, rapid response and code team participation, IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, medication administration, cardiac drips (no titration), respiratory support including nasal cannula and oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted
