PACU RN Job in Elmira, NY

Arnot Ogden Medical Center (AOMC) is seeking an RN for its Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). You'll work evenings on a 5x8 schedule in a community hospital setting, providing direct post-operative recovery care for patients following orthopedic, neurosurgery, general, thoracic, podiatry, and GI procedures.

Your responsibilities include:

• Assume responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients during your assigned shift
• Perform ongoing and systematic assessments focused on physiologic, psychological, and cognitive patient status
• Utilize the nursing process, therapeutic communication, and environmental and instrumentation resources to deliver individualized patient care
• Monitor post-anesthesia recovery and respond to changing patient conditions
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and other health care team members to ensure comprehensive patient care and safe transitions of care
• Perform duties in accordance with established standards of care and the Division of Nursing core values
• Report to the assigned Unit Director
