Emergency Department RN Job in Des Moines, IA

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at UnityPoint - Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, IA. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting August 17, 2026.

Schedule and Pay

• 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week
• Guaranteed 36–40 hours weekly
• Every 4th weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Weekly pay: $2,280.96

Role Responsibilities

• Care for diverse patient populations including behavioral health, pediatric, and adult patients
• Manage a 4:1 patient ratio in an 18-bed unit
• Administer drips including sedation and vasoactive medications
• Read, measure, and interpret telemetry strips
• Float across all campuses as required

Requirements

• Active Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license
• Minimum 36 months current Emergency Department experience
• TNCC, BLS (AHA/ARC), ACLS (AHA/ARC), PALS (AHA) certifications
• Skills checklist specific to Emergency Department discipline
• Valid driver's license
• Behavioral health patient experience highly preferred
• Professional reference from charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred

Work Environment

• Navy blue, solid-color scrubs required
• EMR system: EPIC
• Must be available to work 1–2 of the 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)
