Occupational Therapy Assistant Job in Haskell, TX

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) for a 91-day travel assignment at AVIR Health Group, LLC – Avir at Haskell in Haskell, TX. This is a day shift role working 5x8 hours per week with no on-call or weekend requirements.

Your Responsibilities:

• Execute specialized therapy plans designed by the supervising OT, guiding patients through therapeutic exercises and activities to improve motor skills and coordination
• Teach patients how to perform Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, and eating, often using adaptive techniques
• Instruct patients and families on how to use special tools like reachers, mobility aids, or modified kitchen utensils
• Record detailed notes on patient progress, behavioral changes, and safety concerns
• Report findings to supervising OT to adjust treatment plans as needed
• Provide emotional encouragement to patients and train caregivers on how to assist with home programs
• Prepare treatment areas and clean equipment
• Handle administrative duties like scheduling and billing

Requirements:

• Current Texas or compact state OTA license
• Minimum 2 years OTA experience in a long-term care (LTC) setting
• Documented Observation and Reporting (DOR) experience preferred
