Opportunity:

Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech CVOR

Job Details:

• 4 x 10-hour day shifts
• Strong vascular experience strongly preferred
• Scrub surgical cases including vascular and cardiac procedures - techs do NOT circulate but may assist the nurse in the room if needed
• On-call requirements will be discussed during interview
• Vascular on-call: approximately 7 to 10 days on call per period, including weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)
• Hearts on-call: approximately 10 to 15 days on call per period, including 2 weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks (guaranteed hours policy)
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of placement
• Required certifications: BLS, NBSTSA (NCCT certification accepted if ST was employed as a ST in SC prior to January 1, 2008 or completed a ST military training program)
• Required skills include: Angioplasty/stenting, Aortic Aneurysm repair, Aseptic Technique, Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG), CVOR, Radiation Safety, Sharps Safety, Specimen Handling/Labeling, Universal Protocol (Time Out) Procedure
• Must be proficient with mesh measuring and additional timeout procedures for retained or additional foreign objects
• Works with interdisciplinary support including IV Teams and Radiology
• Patient age groups served: Adults and Geriatrics
• Unit operates 5 rooms and 6 beds
• Successful completion of a Surgical Technology program or Surgical Technologist training in the U.S. Armed Forces required
