ED Registered Nurse Job in Castro Valley, CA

Sutter Health Eden Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 27, 2026, working three 12-hour night shifts per week at $2,555.19 weekly.

Role Overview

You will provide emergency nursing care to patients across all age groups—from neonates and infants through geriatrics. You'll manage acute emergencies including Level II Trauma and Stroke Center cases, maintain a 4:1 patient ratio, and work alongside respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform triage and assess patients presenting with acute conditions
• Place and manage intravenous lines and central lines
• Interpret dysrhythmias and administer blood products
• Manage behavioral health conditions
• Utilize lift equipment as part of patient care
• Document all care in the Epic charting system

Required Qualifications

• Current California RN license
• Minimum 3 years of emergency nursing experience (or 2 years for seasoned RNs)
• Documented travel healthcare experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (all AHA)
• TNCC certification required within 90 days of start date
• Proficiency with Epic charting system

Preferred Qualifications

• Community hospital experience
• Trauma Level II unit experience

Contract Terms

You are eligible for a maximum of 7 days of pre-approved time off during the contract period. Only one holiday per contract may be requested.
