Med Surg RN Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in Medical-Surgical nursing. You'll work 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) on a rotating schedule that includes every other weekend and holiday coverage.

Role Overview:

You'll provide pre- and post-surgical care for adult and geriatric patients in a 40-bed Post Surgical Care Unit. This is a fast-paced environment with 10–15 admissions per day and an average patient length of stay of 2–3 days. You'll maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–7 during night shifts and float to inpatient units as needed. Your responsibilities include patient assessment, prioritization by acuity, medication administration, and collaborative teamwork in a dynamic setting.

Qualifications Required:

• Current Wisconsin RN License
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 2+ years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience with recent hospital experience
• Trauma Level II experience
• Prior travel nursing experience
• Epic EMR charting experience
• Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing (Bachelor's Degree preferred)

Work Environment:

You'll use Epic EMR for charting, Rovers for medication scanning, and Alaris infusion pumps. The unit operates with 36 guaranteed hours per week. Any color scrubs are permitted.

Compensation & Logistics:

This assignment offers $2,377.08 weekly pay with a 91-day contract starting August 10, 2026. You must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, Wisconsin.
