PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• 48-hour weekly commitment required
• Float pool position - must be flexible with facility scheduling and no schedule requests can be accommodated
• Expected to float throughout the hospital including Emergency Department, ER Hold, Medical Surgical, Telemetry, and Stepdown/PCU
• Patient ratios up to 1:7 in Med-Surg; 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Travel experience required
• Patient age groups: Adults and Geriatrics
• Will care for post-surgical, medical, PCU stepdown inpatient unit, and ER hold patients
• Maximum 7 days of pre-approved time off per contract - all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
• If one or two major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work all of them; if three major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work two
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Georgia or Compact nursing license required
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Required skills include: Cardiac Telemetry, Care of Ventilated Patient, Central Line Care/Management, ER Holding, Feeding Tube Care and Management, Heparin Protocols, Interpretation of Dysrhythmias, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Cardiac and Vasoactive Drip Management and Titration, Management of Dysrhythmias, Non-invasive Airway Management, PICC Line Management, Starting and Maintaining IVs, Telemetry Monitoring, and Use of Rapid Response/Code Teams
• Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, and Pharmacy
