PCU Registered Nurse Job in Atlanta, GA

Join Grady Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse in our Progressive Care Unit. This 89-day travel assignment offers you the opportunity to provide direct patient care in a medical step-down setting with a 1:4 patient ratio.

Role Overview

You will work in a 6–20 bed progressive care unit, managing patients with acute and complex medical conditions. Your responsibilities include nursing assessment, medication administration, patient monitoring, and coordination of care with the interdisciplinary team.

Patient Population

You will care for patients experiencing a range of conditions, including:

• Sepsis and infectious processes
• Heart failure and acute cardiac events
• Hypertensive emergency
• Respiratory failure and COPD
• Chronic kidney disease
• Type 2 diabetes
• Substance abuse and withdrawal
• Status epilepticus and seizure disorders
• Encephalopathy

Schedule and Assignment Details

This position runs 12-hour day shifts, 4 days per week. You will start on November 2, 2026. Possible float assignments to other Intermediate Care Units (IMCU) may occur, with 5J and 12A being the most common units.

Requirements

You must hold a current RN license and maintain a minimum of 2 years of direct patient care experience. Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required. Mandatory holiday coverage applies—you must work either Thanksgiving Day or the day after Thanksgiving, and either Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, or New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

Compensation

Weekly pay is $2,460.
