Med Surg RN Job in Austin, TX

North Austin Medical Center is seeking an RN for a 13-week contract assignment on the Medical Surgical unit (3 East). This is a backfill position offering stability and predictable scheduling.

Position Details:

• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 3 shifts per week with rotating weekends (4 shifts per month required)
• No on-call responsibilities
• Patient ratio: 5:1 to 6:1
• Unit census: 28 beds with 1 Charge Nurse, 6 RNs, and 3 PCTs per shift

Requirements:

• Current RN license
• BLS, NIHSS, and Telemetry certifications
• Hospital experience required
• 3 or more years of nursing experience preferred
• Epilepsy care experience preferred

Clinical Environment:

You will work with specialized equipment including Video EEG, Hoyer Lift, Bladder Scanner, Vital Sign Machine, and Telemetry monitoring. The unit uses Meditech for documentation. Navy blue scrubs with St. David's logo are required.

Compensation & Timeline:

• Weekly pay: $1,532
• Start date: September 2, 2026
• Duration: 91 days (13 weeks)
