Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Oncology

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every 3rd weekend required with 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period (weekend days are Fridays and Saturdays)
• Rotating holiday requirement
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5
• 21-bed Med/Surg Oncology unit in an acute care setting
• Care for medical/surgical patients with specialty in post-operative cancer intervention including prostatectomy and mastectomy
• Titrate drips including heparin, lidocaine, and TPN
• Monitor telemetry with central monitoring system; RN responsible for noticing changes
• Nurse aides available on unit dependent on sitter needs at a 1:15 ratio
• Charge nurse and house supervisor available on unit
• Floating is rare and limited to other medical/surgical units only
• Charting system: EPIC
• Navy scrubs required
• Oncology certification is a plus but not required; chemotherapy administration is not required
• Required certification: BLS (AHA)
• BSN not required; active RN license required at submittal
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• Must reside more than 50 miles from facility
