PCU RN Job in Elizabethtown, Kentucky

Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. is seeking a registered nurse for our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. This is a 12-week travel nursing assignment beginning October 5, 2026, with a weekly pay rate of $2,272.

Position Overview

You will work the night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, on a 3x12-hour schedule with weekend and holiday rotation. The 32-bed unit features semi-private rooms and serves a mixed-acuity patient population including medical-surgical transfers and ICU step-down patients. You will manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 4–5:1.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, nursing rounds, and evidence-based treatments
• Monitor all patients on continuous telemetry with active heart monitoring
• Manage patients requiring cardiac drip titration and continuous BiPAP monitoring
• Perform higher-acuity nursing interventions as the clinical situation requires
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities with attention to patient and family needs
• Provide patient and family-centered education and individualized care coordination
• Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members in direct patient care activities

Quality and Professional Standards

You will participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives focused on patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer monitoring, and CAUTI reduction. All clinical work will be guided by evidence-based nursing practices, hospital policies, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines.
